Workshop for Individuals:
An intensive, 2-day workshop appropriate for singles not currently in a relationship, who are tired of making the same mistakes over and over again and want to learn the secret to finding and keeping lasting love. This workshop is all about transforming the self. Often we are tempted to think the problem is "finding the right person." But this workshop is all about "becoming the right person." A weekend alone will not be enough to transform the person that you are. It will take consistent follow-up work. We offer Friday and Saturday evening two hour groups where you can continue your work twice a month.
This workshop is also an ideal follow-up workshop for those who have taken the couples workshop.
About the Workshop:
DR. HENDRIX has created a workshop experience that gives individuals, who would like to be in a committed partnership, the long-awaited opportunity to explore the personal issues that may be keeping them from intimacy. This workshop, based upon his best seller, "KEEPING THE LOVE YOU FIND - A PERSONAL GUIDE" is designed for all who want to keep the love they find and create the relationship of their dreams. Participants will learn that before they can successfully hold onto their next love, they must first identify and change certain negative patterns and behaviors about themselves. This workshop will help them to begin that journey.
What this Workshop Includes:
Using lectures and guided imagery exercises, written exercises and role play in groups of three or four, you will understand why your relationships failed in the past. You'll be able to come to grips with these old hurts and frustrations and begin a healing process. You will also have a chance, after the workshop through optional Friday or Saturday groups, to continue your work and connect with others who are on a similar path.
This 2-day workshop has been designed by Harville Hendrix, Ph.D., and is identical to the one he has conducted throughout the country. Drs. Beauvoir and Crapuchettes of the Pasadena Institute for Relationships, a married team, will lead the workshop and be available for the two days. A trained staff of therapists will be present to answer your questions and help explain the exercises. The workshop hours are 8:00 am to 6:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. There is a 1 1/2 hour lunch break both days.
What you can expect from this workshop:
* SELF-DISCOVERY: Discover why you are always attracted to similar types of people. Understand the connection between the frustrations you've experiencedin past relationships and your frustrations in childhood. Recognize yourpast wounds and the defenses which you use to protect yourself from being hurt again. These are the walls that prevent more intimate relationships.
* HEALING PAST WOUNDS: You will begin the process of healing past wounds and get a chance to "say goodbye" to former love partners. As you release old feelings you'll be able to look forward to the future and begin to get over your fears.
* NEW RELATIONSHIP SKILLS: You will get to practice effective skills to helpyou break the negative cycle of relating. You'll discover how you inadvertently sabotage relationships to protect yourself from unconscious fears and anticipated hurts. With the new tools learned at this workshop, you will be able to convert conflict into growth in your next relationship.
* CREATING A PLAN FOR PERSONAL CHANGE: By the end of the workshop you will know what you must change in yourself to Keep The Love You Find - and you'll create a step-by-step personal program to help you achieve your goals.
* MEET NEW PEOPLE WHO ARE ALSO INVOLVED IN PERSONAL GROWTH
