Present Specialties
1. Marriage therapy: Since 1989, I have studied extensively under Harville Hendrix, Ph.D. in New York who founded the Institute for Imago Relationship Therapy now located in Winter Park, Florida, and innovated the theory of relationships called Imago Relationship Therapy. My husband, Bruce Crapuchettes, Ph.D., also a licensed psychologist practices with me and we put on weekend workshops for couples regularly in the Los Angeles Area, Alaska, Australia, and New Zealand. We also train psychotherapists in Imago Relationship Therapy.
2.
Parenting: I have written a parenting
book, "Raising Cooperative And
Self-Confident Children," and
have put out a set of two audio tapes with the same title. Also, I have designed and conduct one day
workshops for parents and educators. I
see parents as clients and conduct speaking engagements on the topic.
3.
Working with the geriatric population in retirement homes and nursing skill
facilities.
Theoretical
Orientation
My orientation is "Imago
Relationship Therapy." Harville
Hendrix, Ph.D., of the Institute for Relationship Therapy in Winter Park,
Florida, innovated the theory and practice of Imago Relationship Therapy. It is a unique blend of Psychodynamic,
Gestalt, and Cognitive/Behavioral Therapy that sees the committed, intimate
relationship as the place of healing for childhood wounds.
